About

The Math 2 course allows students to explore many fundamental mathematical concepts in detail. Students begin the course with a look at expanding their place value knowledge, before the course dives into addition and subtraction. After learning about addition and subtraction, students learn about the conceptual idea of multiplication (counting up). Next, students begin to study measurements. Students learn about how to measure length, how to estimate length and how to relate measurements to the basic operations. Next, students move into the realm of shapes. Students study 2D shapes with 3-6 sides and their characteristics, before learning to identify 3D shapes as well. Finally, students finish the course with a look at time and money, specifically studying various operations and how they can be applied to both of these concepts.
