Art 8-18 ELC001 Self-Paced

Visual Art Studio explores various media such as painting, drawing and sketching, collage, and calligraphy. Students have the opportunity to discover hands-on applications of the elements of art and principles of designs in their own work. The class begins with the fundamental techniques of sketching and perspective drawing, like shading, cross hatching, horizon lines, vanishing points, and orthogonal lines. Students have the opportunity to create their own drawing master pieces with these techniques in mind. The class then dives into the nuance of color and mastering different mediums of paint. From there students venture into collages, experimenting with texture and shape and creating meaning out of various fragments combined to form one cohesive piece. Additionally Visual Art Studio introduces students to the basics of calligraphy.
